I just moved across the street from Garage Cafe and I've been to this restaurant twice now in the short time I've lived in the neighborhood. I've got to say, this place makes excellent drunk food.
Hassan, who runs the show on the restaurant side, is always professional, courteous, and consistent. So far I've ordered the chicken caesar salad, pesto pizza, onion rings, and pesto fettuccini alfredo. All were delicious given the type of place this is.
This restaurant is pricey and definitely takes advantage of the area and the demographic, which is basically the only thing that stops me from eating here every single day... but this is SF, so I'm not deducting points for this one aspect because I'm learning this is fairly common.
My favorite part of Garage Cafe is the hours -- they are open until midnight on weekdays and 3 A.M. on Friday and Saturday. Bottom line --I will never go hungry with this place in business.
Thanks so much, Hassan! I'll bee seeing you again soon. -

Chicken Gyro is incredibly huge and delicious!! Place is clean and efficient. You can purchase alcohol inside as well on the other side to take home with you.

Oh wow..I love this spot. I got to the Audio club too early..didn't want to spend money at Bergerac, so I found this spot to kill time at for a half hour. I got a fried fish taco for $3.50. They serve Mexican food. I also got a ginger beer from the drink shop..be warned they charge .75 for credit card use under like $7.

This place is what many would describe as the best of both worlds, on one side of the business; you have a top notch Taqueria and munchie spot, and on the other end; you have a fully functional liquor store that stocks every kind of alcohol you could possibly need. The restaurant portion of this business does get very busy late night, but it is definitely worth the wait. Prices are fair; considering that this business is located in an expensive area of the city, but you definitely get what you pay for here and won't be disappointed. Also, the liquor store portion of this store stocks some of the best local craft brews around, making this the ideal place to "Front Load" liquor before a show or street fair.
